Dr. Joshika B. Kanabar was born and raised in Bryan/College Station, Texas. She attended the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in Biology and minoring in Spanish.
In 1999, Dr. Kanabar moved to Dallas to pursue her dental degree at Baylor College of Dentistry. By graduation, she had maintained a position on the Dean’s Honor List all four years, was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, and received the ADS Academic Achievement Award. During this time, she became passionate about the field of orthodontics and went on to complete the Baylor College of Dentistry orthodontics residency program and masters degree in 2005.
In her free time, Dr. Kanabar enjoys teaching aerobics, weight-lifting, cycling, playing the piano, and spending quality time with family and friends. She has been happily married since 1998 to her husband, Beej, who she met in East Africa, where their fathers were both involved in a charitable medical service project. Beej has a law degree from England, an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas, and plays an instrumental part in managing the office. Their son, Sohum, born in the summer of 2008, is a joy and blessing for all in the family.
Dr. Kanabar’s goal is to lead an orthodontic practice that provides patients with outstanding quality of care while implementing proven and effective orthodontic treatment methods. She is grateful for the opportunity to build lasting relationships with you and your families through the years to come.
